Shopping at the 2009 Specialty – Part 8 – Helmbold’s Woodworks

Today's vendor has a fantastic item that you folks who do drafting or aspire to do drafting are going to just love! Fred Helmbold has designed a collapsible cart that sets up in minutes and doesn't take up a lot of space in your vehicle. My Nicky (115 pounds) always travels in my van and when I take his cart, I have to disassemble it to make it fit into the van. Fred's design is a great solution for those of you with the same situation!! I saw Fred and his wife, Pat, at the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies' Draft Test last Sunday - he and Sue Sanvido were the draft judges for their test. What a great time I had at their draft test - it was so nice to see so many of my Berner friends at the event!!

Fred has a newly designed, lightweight, collapsible cart for competition or parades. The cart was designed to easily fit into smaller cars or vans and leave room for your Berners, too. Easily assembled without tools, it is ready to go in just a few minutes! Measuring 23 1/2” wide by 27 1/2” long, the cart uses a 24” wide wheelbase to prevent tipping. Models are available in two woods - oak or poplar and with a natural gloss finish. The poplar cart weighs 21 pounds, the oak cart 24 pounds, without the shafts. Matching singletree shafts and a competition weight holder is furnished. The carts are priced at $445 for the oak and $395 for poplar. Shipping is not included.

Here are two views of the carts, and then another of the cart collapsed.

An easy to handle Carry Bag Set, consisting of compartmented bags to hold the sides, body and shafts, is a useful accessory and may be custom embroidered with the owner’s name or kennel name. The bag set is $129, plus embroidery charges.

A Brace Team set for two dogs, will be available in the near future.

Visa and Master Cards are accepted.

Fred has donated one his fantastic carts to the Berner-Garde Fundraiser.
